About the Project

The JINAK report cards represent a significant innovation in the concept of final assessment of students' learning outcomes in primary and lower secondary schools in the Czech Republic. It follows the transformation of the culture of teaching and learning.

The report cards are the result of the project: TAČR Development and Implementation of a Pilot Design of Report Cards: Innovation of Final Assessment of Primary and Lower Secondary School Students in Connection with Comprehensive Developmental Assessment (TL05000360).

The project was a collaboration between academics and schools. This was an experimental development, and the report cards were subject to continuous research validation during their development. Data was collected from teachers, principals, students, and their parents. Based on the research findings, the JINAK report cards were gradually developed into their current form.

Change in legislation

The innovative report cards have already influenced the change to Decree No. 48/2005, which explicitly added the criterion assessment. The JINAK report cards were implemented in legislation and became part of Decree 432/2024 Coll. The legislative requirements for assessment and the feasibility of using innovative report cards in practice are therefore gradually evolving.
